  • Jacob is responsible for supporting the evaluation, selection and ongoing oversight of all external investment managers utilized within client investment portfolios. Prior to joining Greenleaf Trust, he was an investment officer within the global fund services division at a trust company, where he served third-party mutual funds and institutional clients. Jacob has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Oklahoma State University and an M.B.A from the Loyola University of Chicago Quinlan School of Business. Jacob is a CFA® charterholder and has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.

Vice President, Investment Strategist, Senior Fixed Income Analyst

  • Chris contributes to portfolio construction and asset allocation and is responsible for development and implementation of fixed income strategies. He is a voting member of the investment committee and chair of the fixed income committee. Prior to joining Greenleaf Trust, Chris was an associate client advisor at Bessemer Trust. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with high distinction from the University of Michigan and a master of accounting degree with high distinction from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Chris is a CFA® charterholder, a licensed CPA, and has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.

Vice President, Senior Equity Portfolio Manager

  • As senior equity portfolio manager, Ali is responsible for the implementation and execution of our equity investment process, ranging from idea generation and in-depth analysis to portfolio construction and risk management. He is the chair of the individual equity committee responsible for managing our intrinsic value strategy, a concentrated domestic equity strategy. Prior to joining Greenleaf Trust, he partnered in the founding of PREMIS Capital Partners and served as senior vice president – portfolio manager. Ali also spent several years at Hansberger Global Investors in various equity research and portfolio management roles, and at North American Management as senior research analyst. Ali holds a bachelor’s degree in finance with distinction from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and an M.B.A. from Babson College, F.W. Olin School of Business. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA® Institute.

  • As a trading specialist, Mollie is responsible for all aspects of the securities trading process with primary focus on equities, options, and mutual funds. She supports research analysts and client centric team members with intra-day market insights and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives targeting risk reduction and best execution. Prior to joining Greenleaf Trust, Mollie served as a fund accounting and trust operations specialist at Northern Trust. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from DePaul University.

Chief Investment Officer

  • Nick is responsible for development, execution and oversight of Greenleaf Trust’s investment management platform and leadership of our in-house research team.   As chair of the investment committee, Nick ensures disciplined application of Greenleaf’s investment philosophy on behalf of clients.  He is accountable for portfolio-level investment decisions including asset allocation, tactical positioning, portfolio construction, and investment policy design, as well as market and economic content development and communication.  Nick holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.  He is a CFA® charterholder, member of the CFA® Institute, and President of the CFA Society of West Michigan.

Prior to joining Greenleaf Trust, Seth served as an analyst at Comerica Bank, providing operational oversight of incoming securities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Western Michigan University. Seth is a CFA® charterholder and member of the CFA® institute.

  • Ebenezer is responsible for supporting the research team by leveraging systems and data to facilitate portfolio analysis.  He maintains portfolio performance reporting models and drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on research processes.  Ebenezer is enrolled at Western Michigan University, graduating spring 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Prior to joining Greenleaf Trust, Michael was a manager at Stout Risius Ross, and a senior associate at Willamette Management Associates. Michael has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Michigan State University. He is a CFA® charterholder and member of the CFA® institute.
