Greenleaf Trust Announces Promotions and Role Change in Operations Division and Research Team

Greenleaf Trust is pleased to share the promotions of Theresa Loucanides and Brittany Szymczak to tax officers, and the addition of Patrick Bruining to the research team.

Theresa Loucanides joined Greenleaf Trust’s tax team in 2021. As tax officer, Theresa will assist with leading the tax team and overseeing tax processing, reviewing tax returns and assisting the client centric team with client inquiries. She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in business administration from Georgian Court University. She has also earned the Enrolled Agent credential from the Internal Revenue Service.

Brittany Szymczak brings her experience from The Family Office at Greenleaf Trust to help lead the tax team as a fellow tax officer, and is responsible for the development, execution and oversight of tax advisory services. All services are specifically tailored to each client’s unique needs and delivered in a team-based environment. She is a graduate of the Western Michigan University Haworth College of Business and received her master’s degree in taxation at Grand Valley State University. Brittany is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has more than 12 years of experience in the finance and accounting industry.

When asked about the promotions of Brittany and Theresa, Senior Vice President, Director of Operations, Peggy Anderson, commented, “This will allow the entire tax team the opportunity to manage the requirements of tax processing, along with elevating and delivering top notch client service. Brittany and Theresa’s individual tax processing and planning experience will take our tax services to the next level.”

In addition to the promotions, Patrick Bruining recently joined our research team as a research associate. He is now responsible for maintaining strategy and portfolio-level performance models, providing periodic performance and attribution reporting and supporting the research team with relevant reporting. Patrick has over 10 years of experience in the financial service industry. Patrick received his Bachelor of Science from Aquinas College.
