Senior Trust relationship associate receives Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor designation

Kathryn Gadbois Schafer, J.D., CTFA, a senior trust relationship associate in Kalamazoo, Michigan was recently awarded the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation from the American Bankers Association.

Kathryn is responsible for day-to-day trust administration and fiduciary compliance while coordinating the estate and tax planning strategies with other professional advisors for her clients. She has been a part of the Greenleaf Trust team since 2018. She earned her bachelor of applied science degree from Davenport University and graduated cum laude from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

The CTFA designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of wealth management and trust. To qualify for the CTFA certification, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education in the trust profession, pass an exam, and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CTFA exam covers many areas including fiduciary and trust activities, financial planning, tax law and planning, investment management and ethics.
