Greenleaf Trust announces CPWA® Certification

Senior Wealth Management Advisor achieves Certified Private Wealth Advisor® designation:

Greenleaf Trust is pleased to share that senior wealth management advisor Corbin Donaldson, CFP®, CPWA® successfully completed the Certified Private Wealth Advisor Designation Program offered through the Investments & Wealth Institute and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Since joining the Greenleaf Trust team in 2018, he is responsible for the development of comprehensive wealth management plans, the execution of goal-based planning strategies, and the management of client investment portfolios. Corbin has over ten years of experience in the financial services industry, earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and management from Cornerstone University and a master’s degree in finance at Davenport University. He has also earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.

The CPWA designation program is an advanced credential created specifically for experienced wealth managers and advisors who work with high-net-worth clients on the life cycle of wealth: accumulation, preservation, and distribution. Candidates who earn this designation learn to identify and analyze challenges facing high-net-worth clients and learn to develop specific strategies to minimize taxes, monetize and protect assets, maximize growth, and transfer wealth. The CPWA® designation program is a challenging educational program focused on advanced wealth management topics. Topics include portfolio management, behavioral finance, planning for executives, risk management and asset protection, charitable planning, among others.

When asked about the designation, Vice President, Assistant director of wealth management James Curry commented, “Earning the designation required personal sacrifice, dedication, and commitment to personal growth. The program included personal study time to complete the self-paced program, followed by a weeklong intensive class at University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and concluded with a comprehensive exam. We are grateful for Corbin’s continued hard work on behalf of our clients.”
