At the regularly scheduled October board of directors meeting, the board unanimously voted to accept the nomination of James Liggins, Esq. to the Board of Directors of Greenleaf Financial Holding Company, Greenleaf Trust of Michigan and Greenleaf Trust of Delaware.

James is a senior attorney in the Kalamazoo office at Warner Norcross + Judd LLP. He is a member of the national bar as well as the Michigan, Illinois and Indiana bar. James earned his BA from the University of Michigan and his JD from Michigan State University College of Law where he earned the prestigious George N. Bashara Jr. Distinguished Alumni Award. In 2013, James was named the Michigan Super Lawyer Rising Star by Business Litigation.

James’ community involvement is indeed prolific. He served as a mentor and coach for the Kalamazoo Central High School mock trial team, which has won many state, regional and national championships. He serves on the board of the Herald and Grace Upjohn Foundation, Bronson Healthcare Group, United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region and past chair of the Douglass Community Association. James is also an associate pastor for his church as well as organist for the choir and congregation.

His addition to the board brings membership to ten.
