Greenleaf Trust Recognized for Being a “Cool Place to Work”

Greenleaf Trust is excited to share that it has been named a “Cool Place to Work” by Crain’s Detroit Business.

The distinguished award reflects Greenleaf Trust’s ongoing success in integrating best practices throughout its wealth management business, now with $14B in assets under advisement.

The COOL PLACE TO WORK award falls within Crain’s Detroit “Best Places” competition. Greenleaf Trust was recognized as the #2 “Cool” firm within the medium company category (50 – 249 employees), and #5 in the all-inclusive national category, up from #6 last year. In competing for the award, Greenleaf Trust was evaluated on its workplace policies, practices, and demographics, followed by a comprehensive survey of its employees that measures workplace culture and company leadership.

Karen also remarked on how we cultivate culture amid the COVID-19 outbreak:

When we realized we would be working from home for more than 2 weeks, our Chairman sent a message to all team members ensuring everyone their job was secure, they would continue to be paid their full salary and they would have meaningful work to do. We have been through difficult times in the past and will have others ahead; this is no different and we will get through it all together.”

Some of the “cool” things we did when we were sent home to work were: Virtual Trivia 2 nights a week; Special celebrations for our HS and University Graduates; Personal notes to our local hospitals thanking them for their dedication and service during COVID; provided the flexibility for all team members to work and care for their families once schools were closed; we also created a special #KidsCorner on our internal Facebook page for parents and/or their children to share fun activities for other children to try.
