Greenleaf Trust honored as Michigan winner of 2012 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility
Kalamazoo, MI, September 13, 2012 – The Michigan Council of the Society for Human Resource
Management (MISHRM) has recognized Greenleaf Trust as one of the Michigan winners of the 2012
Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility!
Given by the Families and Work Institute (FWI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM),
the Sloan award recognizes employers who have distinguished themselves in Michigan and across the country.
Winners are identified through a rigorous selection process, which involves an evaluation of employers’
flexibility programs and practices and a confidential employee survey.
“Greenleaf Trust is creative in its approach to employee work schedules. We are committed to the long-term
well being of our employees, and to helping them achieve a healthy work/life balance. This commitment
drives our decisions on reviewing and granting different work arrangements for employees, such as
enabling working moms to have compressed weeks to allow for more time at home with their family,
providing remote access for those traveling or working from home for personal reasons, and attending
special events for their children or other family members. We do everything within reason to be flexible
and accommodating,” said Karen A. Baldwin, CSP™, Director of Human Resources.
MISHRM will recognize and honor Greenleaf Trust and other 2012 winners at the opening Keynote of
the annual HR State Conference in Novi, Michigan on November 11, 2012.
